Develop new skills, help others and connect with even more communicators! Volunteering at the international level gives you access to leaders from around the globe, the ability to showcase your leadership skills and the opportunity to see how your impact not only furthers the vision of IABC, but moves the profession forward.
IABC is looking for members to join the following task forces (TF):
Diversity & Inclusion TF | The IABC D&I TF is a time-limited action team tasked to develop recommendations for how to integrate D&I into the fabric of our organization and culture. In 2018, IABC developed a D&I statement and a Code of Conduct as first steps in this journey to create a more effective organization. The IEB has stated that they want an organization that supports and reflects diversity and inclusion at all levels and at all events, including staff and volunteers. We also know we need a recruitment process that supports diversity.
Big Ideas TF | The IABC Big Ideas TF are time-limited think tanks tasked with researching and developing thought leadership white papers on assigned topics to provide IABC members with insights about the profession now and in the future. Two Big Idea TFs will be formed in June 2019, each tasked with a single subject matter for exploration, research, and white paper development. Topics to be researched will be selected with input from the Trend Watch TF.
Tools & templates TF | The IABC Tools and Templates TF is a time-limited action team who will aggregate and develop tools/templates for critical communication functions and practices to help IABC members do their jobs better. The TF will identify the 10 most critical templates a communication professional will need in their work, and work together to develop best practice templates to be shared on IABC.com as a member only resource. This TF will begin meeting in June 2019 and will complete their work no later than 31 October 2019.
Trends watch TF | The IABC Trend Watch TF is a time-limited think tank tasked with continuous environmental scanning provide quarterly reports on trends, emerging issues/opportunities for the field, new big ideas in the profession, and related topics that might provide communicators with insight that helps them succeed now and prepare for the future.
